Welcome to the Unofficial Website of the Chapel Hill Dog Park.

After regularly visiting the dog park, it became apparent that current and prospective users could benefit from a website dedicated to current information about the park (location, hours, etc.), specific weather-related conditions at the park (severity of mud and major puddles), and other pertinent information (lost dogs, etc.).

This website is dedicated to the dogs and dog owners that frequent the park.  Comments and suggestions are welcome.  Content contributions will be heavily encouraged once the development of this site is complete.

Thanks for visiting!

How Do I Get to the Chapel Hill Dog Park?
Directions - The Dog Park is located at Homestead Park in Chapel Hill, NC. From Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, turn onto Homestead Road. Immediately past the Duke Power building turn onto Northern Park Drive. The Dog Park is easily indicated by the fenced in area.  Please note that the Park offers two sections - one for medium and large dogs, and one for small dogs.

When is the Best Time to Go To the Park?
The answer to this question changes based on season and weather and depends on your goals.  Generally, if you'd like for your dog to play with other dogs in a medium to large group, weekends are ideal from 10:30AM to 1:00PM.  Weekday mornings, 8:00AM to 11:00AM are typically less frequented times, although 2-3 dogs may be at the Park. Large groups frequently arrive at the Park at the end of the business day.
